Tyre (Wheeled) vs Tracked Excavator: Which One Your UAE Project Needs
Road mobility, ground pressure and site type all point to a different answer — here's how to choose.
Mobility is the whole trade-off
A tyre excavator drives between nearby sites on its own wheels at road speed — no lowbed, no permit delay. A tracked machine needs transport for every move but delivers more stability and traction on rough or soft ground.
Ground damage matters in urban work
Tracks can damage finished roads, pavers and thin slabs. On urban utility and municipal work where the surface has to stay intact, a tyre excavator is the only sensible choice.
Where tracked still wins
Soft ground, active demolition rubble fields, and anything requiring maximum stability under a heavy attachment still favour tracked machines — our PC220, PC400 and EC750DL are all tracked for exactly this reason.
Our tyre excavator fleet
The 15–22 ton wheeled excavators in our fleet are sized for utility trenching, road works and fast multi-location deployments — see the equipment page for full specs.
