Komatsu PC400 Excavator: Full Rental Guide for UAE Contractors
When 22-ton class isn't enough — the 40-ton PC400's specs, attachment range and best-fit projects.
Why step up to 40-ton class
At 40,600 kg and 350 hp, the PC400 exists for bulk excavation, heavy breaker duty and demolition support where a 22-ton machine would cycle too slowly or lack the hydraulic flow for larger attachments.
Reach and bucket capacity
An 11.9 m max reach and 2.1 m³ bucket capacity roughly double the PC220's production rate on mass earthworks — the difference shows up fastest on quarry-adjacent and large-footprint excavation jobs.
Running heavier attachments
Higher auxiliary hydraulic flow lets the PC400 run 3,000–4,500 kg class breakers and full-size crusher/pulverizer attachments without the cycle-time penalty a smaller carrier would take.
Mobilisation notes
The PC400 needs a heavier low-bed and slightly longer lead time than a PC220 — build this into your schedule, or let us handle transport planning as part of the quote.
